GENERAL CHARGING INFORMATION What’s the charging procedure of the EVN’s chargers? The chargers can be used with an EVN charging card or by paying with a credit card. More detailed instructions on how to charge here. How long does it take to charge my car? Charging time depends on several factors, including the type of vehicle and the circumstances in which it is being charged. An average AC charge takes about 3 to 4 hours, and if charging on a DC charger, it takes 20 to 40 minutes. Key factors that affect charging time are: Charger type – AC (alternating current) or DC (direct current) Battery capacity and condition before charging Vehicle onboard charger power (applies to AC chargers) Temperature conditions – External temperature and the temperature of the battery itself can affect charging efficiency Can a hybrid vehicle be charged at the EVN’s chargers? A hybrid vehicle can be charged at the EVN chargers only if it is a “plug in” hybrid type, more precisely, if the vehicle has a charging option and has an appropriate cable with suitable plug-in (Type 2). Can I charge an electric motorcycle or scooter at the charging stations? Although the charging stations are primarily intended for electric vehicles, for Type 2 AC sockets, there is an adapter that allows conversion to a standard 220V schuko socket. This adapter allows charging of electric mopeds, scooters or other light electric vehicles that use a regular charger via conventional electricity. PAYMENT METHOD AND COLLECTION How does one pay for the charging? If the charging is done with an EVN card, according to the contract, the customer will get an invoice by the end of the month with the tarrifs that apply at that time. If the charging is done by payment via debit/credit card, the customer will receive an invoice of the charging session on the e-mail address that they have provided. How much does it cost one charging at EVN chargers? The price of charging depends on the method of payment, which can be by EVN card or direct payment, as well as the type of charger used, whether it is an AC or DC fast charger. The final price is determined according to the amount of energy consumed (kWh) and the duration of charging. More information can be found here. Does charging with EVN card include parking costs? The current service does not include parking costs unless specifically stated. You are required to follow the rules set by the local parking authorities. How do I get an invoice for the charging? Invoicing of the service depends on the payment method: When using an EVN card, invoices are issued on a monthly basis and sent to your email. When paying directly, the invoice is generated immediately after the charging is completed and is sent to the email address specified during the payment process. If you have not received your invoice, please contact us at [email protected] or 0890 12345. Do I need to use the reserved funds in full? When using the direct payment service, the funds do not have to be used in full. The amount is charged according to the charged energy, and the rest is automatically released. EVN CHARGING CARD How can I obtain a charging card? Fill in an online request here or visit the Info Center of EVN (GTC ground floor) or the nearest Customer Center (KEC). Who can own EVN charging card? EVN charging card can own any natural person or company that owns an electric vehicle and is a resident of the Republic of Macedonia with a permanent address in the country and a unique Macedonian identification number. In order to obtain an EVN charging card, you have to submit an application. How long does it take to obtain an EVN charging card? Upon receipt of a signed contract, the card is produced within 7 days and sent by post to the user along with the contract. Upon request of the user, the card can also be picked up personally. TYPES OF CHARGERS AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION Which type of charging stations is EVN installing? The chargers installed by EVN belong to the Type 2 plug-in, CCS and CHAdeMO. 14. What is the difference between Type 2, CCS and CHAdeMO connector? The Type 2 is a plug-in model that is unified in the European Union for the so-called slow chargings. It is compatible with both fast and slow charging stations. CCS is a model unified in the EU for the so called fast chargings. CHAdeMO is a connector model which is usually found in the Japanese and other Asian vehicle manufacturers. It is used for the so-called fast charging and it is not compatible with AC chargers. What is the difference between an AC and DC charger? AC and DC refer to the type of current the charger uses to charge the vehicle, alternating current and direct current, respectively. Since electric vehicles store energy in DC format, DC chargers directly charge the battery, achieving a high charging capacity, while with AC chargers, the charging speed is often limited by the power of the vehicle's inverter. What’s the power of the installed chargers?? On the territory of North Macedonia, EVN has installed chargers with power of 22 kW (aimed for single vehicle charging), chargers with power of 2x22 kW (aimed for simultaneous charging of two vehicles) and fast chargers with power of 150kW (CCS), 100kW (CCS) and 50kW (CHAdeMO). Do I need a charging cable? The need for a cable depends on the type of charger: AC chargers are equipped with Type 2 sockets, and a Type 2 cable is required for charging, which usually comes with the vehicle. DC chargers have an integrated cable, allowing direct connection without the need for additional equipment. LOCATIONS AND AVAILABILITY Where can I find the electric chargers? You can find a detailed map of charging locations here. TROUBLESHOOTING AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT How can I report a problem? To report a problem with the charging station or the charging process, feel free to contact us at [email protected] or 0890 12345. Charging does not start – what should I do? If you are sure that your payment information is correct, check that the cable is properly plugged into the socket. When the cable is not properly plugged in, the charger cannot communicate with your vehicle. After connecting the cable, the charger indicates that it is busy and does not start charging. When using the chargers, it is very important to follow the charging steps, which can be found here. Any connection of the cable before initializing charging tells the charger that the socket is busy. Always plug in the vehicle after initializing charging. A reservation of funds has been made to start the charging, but the session has not started. How do I release the funds? Unsuccessful sessions without a recharge are not charged, but the funds are held by the bank until a transaction is made. Since there is no recharged energy upon which a transaction can be made, these funds may remain reserved for a week to a maximum of a month, depending on your bank's policy. Please contact your bank to speed up the process. The vehicle has recharged less electricity than shown at the charging station. Why? When charging an electric vehicle, there is always a certain difference between the amount of energy delivered by the charger and that stored in the battery. This difference is usually the result of: Losses in the cables and connectors (resistance that causes minimal losses in the transfer of energy). Operation of the battery cooling/heating system, which is activated to optimize charging. The efficiency of the electronic components, which consume a small amount of energy to manage the process. This is a normal process and occurs with all chargers. In addition, the difference in energy consumption may vary in different circumstances. For example, depending on the outside temperature and the condition of the battery, it is possible that in some cases the cooling or heating system (heat pump) may be active, while in others it may not. This may result in different efficiency and different losses during charging. What should I do when an inappropriate vehicle blocks a parking space for electric vehicles? Parking spaces at charging stations are intended for electric vehicles only and their use by users of conventional vehicles is prohibited. Please contact the local parking lot management regarding an incorrectly parked vehicle. Local parking lot managements have instructions on how to proceed in such a case.
